Onward Publishing was established 20 years ago in 1994. Things were a little different back then. That was the same year yahoo.com was launched (here’s what it looked like at the time):
Back then, digital marketing was almost non-existent and print was king. When you wanted to reach your customers, the best way to do it was to collect useful information, assemble it in an attractive, easy-to-read format, and send it out via US mail. It was an effective tool then, and it remains an effective tool now.
But in those 20 years, we’ve seen the world of communications evolve. Our clients today are expected to literally do more with less. Marketers have to break through the clutter to reach customers wherever they are — at home, on their computers, on their mobile devices, on social media or through video.
We’ve learned that the more things change, the more they stay the same. While technology may constantly be evolving, what end users are looking for never changes — they want elegance, where the interactivity is intuitive and engaging. They want quality information and they want to be in control. Clients are looking for a turnkey solution, and we remain focused on providing that holistic customer experience from conceptualization, to creation, to content and delivery.
We still create effective print publications, annual reports and outcomes reports, but now we augment them with social media support, custom video, mobile responsive web sites, smartphone and tablet applications and much more. We can’t wait to see how we’ll be helping our clients communicate in 2034.
